All experience levels and goals welcome!

I have two schemes of work that I have personally formulated to help you with your French language learning journey.

A comprehensive French course that covers: Beginner to Advanced level working through lots of common, useful topics as well as all key foundational grammar points, and works fairly equally over all four skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking.

A conversational French course that focuses more on speaking and listening and content useful for visiting, travelling, living, working and conversing in everyday situations in France or French speaking countries.

Both courses will be tailored to your individual needs, goals, interests, and previous French learning experience.

My Qualifications

In regards to my own studies, I have a first-class degree in French and an MA in translation studies. I take great care to listen and understand your needs, aims, learning style, and interests to help you achieve your goals.

My Approach To Teaching

From my own experience I think it is important to follow the tutee's needs, and work on those first. I always try to follow the student's lead and tailor sessions as much as possible. For all students I will always try to provide a balanced well-rounded session with a main theme or objective for the session. However, I do like to let the lesson flow and follow your learning speed and style. It's always great if something crops up organically particularly with grammar - it's much easier to see it in practice!

I aim to share my passion for the subject with my tutees by bringing my own unique style and approach to tuition. My teaching style is nurturing, humorous, and easy-going. I believe in creating a safe learning space where students feel able to explore and ask questions without feeling silly. After all, there is no such thing as a silly question. I believe humour and laughter helps us learn, and I never want any students to feel pressured and forced into following a strict scheme of work. Even if you are studying for an exam, learning should still have some element of enjoyment.
